Questions & Answers about Sikaflex - 296 -- 20 oz. Unipac - Marine Window Adhesive:
2012-05-09A shopper asked: can sikaflex 296 be used for residential home window interior caulking ?
+Expand Answers
2012-05-09MARSHALL PARIS: Yes it can. I would also consider using sika activator to clean substrate. Need special caulking gun for unipac.
2012-06-29BARBARA HONCHARSKI: We used the caulking for the fixed windows on our boat (trawler) and it has worked beautifully. We used all of the recommended primers for the glass, the teak window frames as well as the fiberglass. After three years, no leaks. I would assume you could use this on any type of window. It is great stuff, with the caveat that it is tough to work with (super sticker and clean up is a chore) and quite expensive. I would say, that if you use it and follow the directions, the project should last a long time.

2011-11-19CHRIS ECONOMIDES asked: Hi, which Sikaflex is the best for sealing my sailing boat perspex windows to fiberglass body please?
+Expand Answers
2011-12-02MARSHALL PARIS: Hi Chris,
According to my info perspex is an organic glass(plastic) and the recommended is sika 295uv, per page 16 and 17 (of the SikaFlex Marine Handbook - bonding and sealing systems, if you don't have one, you can google it). I'm using Sika 296 on my rebedding project with an activator as I have mineral glass (regular glass).
If you need more info you can contact Sika directly, as I did. You will find them very helpful. I left a message and someone called me back within a day - 800.888.0698.
Best wishes
