2013-05-05B D: The manufacturer states on the MSDS it is. I've had no issues with my use of the product that would suggest to me that it wasn't. You could submit a sample to an independent lad for analysis if you felt it was critical.
You don't indicate what your intended use is, so that can't be addressed. The bigger question, in my mind, is what constitutes naphtha. It is a byproduct of petroleum processing primarily, and, by definition, it is a blend many hydrocarbons collected during the distillation of petroleum. Anything that comes off in the 30 °C to 200 °C range is considered naphtha. There are conventions that narrow the range, light naphtha for example, but it's still a blend of solvents, the proportion of which has not been precisely determined. The blend is expected to be primarily alkanes, but with some alkenes and aromatics mixed in, and other contaminants as allowed under regulations for this grade of product.
The mixture may be suitable as an industrial solvent, for thinning oil paint for example. However, if you specifically need hexane or heptane, for example, you would need to purchase those from a chemical supply house, at a much higher cost. Even then, you'll have a question of what grade is required for your application, technical, reagent, etc. The higher purity that is required, the more expensive it will be.

This stuff is absolutely the best degreaser I have found over the years. Unlike Acetone, it doesn't evaporate almost as you pour it on your cleaning rag, and unlike Mineral Spirits, Naptha doesn't take years to dry, and it leaves almost no residue.
The only drawbacks, are you have to be careful not to get Naptha on non-baked paint finishes, and even on baked paint finishes, you have to remove Naptha quickly, in order to avoid dulling of the Finish. You also have to be careful around some plastics with Naptha.
