APPLICATION AND USE
Sandblast or grind to bright metal finish. Remove all blasting/grinding/sanding residues with a clean air line and sweep with a clean brush or broom. (Vacuum clean for best results.) Immediately apply Viny-Lux Primewash 353/354 thinned 25% with Viny-Lux Solvent 355.
Method Viny-Lux Primewash 353/354 is best applied by spray, but can be applied by brush. Apply one coat only.
Mixing Mix both components together thoroughly to correct mix ratio. Stir well before use. If small amounts are required, the mixing ratio by volume is 7 parts Viny-Lux Primewash Base 353 to 1 part Viny-Lux Primewash Reducer 354 to 2 parts Viny-Lux Solvent 355. Mix only as much as you can use in the stated pot life.
Thinner Viny-Lux Solvent 355
Thinning Thin Viny-Lux Primewash 353/354 25-30% with Viny-Lux Solvent 355.
Conventional Spray Pressure Pot: Pressure: 3.44-4.47 bar/50-65 psi (gun pressure); 8-10 psi (pot pressure). Tip Size: 0.89-1.4 mm/35-50 thou. Siphon Cup: Pressure: 3.44-4.47 bar/50-65 psi - gun pressure. Tip Size: 1.0-1.4 mm/40-50 thou.
Other Viny-Lux Primewash 353/354 must be overcoated within 24 hours of application. If more than 24 hours has elapsed, sand it off and reapply another coat.
Some Important Points Do not apply more than one coat. Do not apply in excess of 0.5 mils DFT. Excess film thickness will lead to delamination and splitting. Be careful not to leave puddles in deep sanding tracks. Do not use a cloth to remove blast residue as the cloth may leave fibers behind which can cause wicking of moisture through the primer system and cause premature failure. Product temperature should be minimum 10 deg C/50 deg F and maximum 29 deg C/85 deg F. Ambient temperature should be minimum 10 deg C/50 deg F and maximum 35 deg C/95 deg F. Substrate temperature should be minimum 10 deg C/50 deg F and maximum 29 deg C/85 deg F.
Compatibility/Substrates Apply over bare metal only. Metal surface must be thoroughly dry and free of all rust, mill-scale, grease, oil and paint. Sandblasting, power wire brushing and grinding with medium grade (grit) emery cloth are the best methods of cleaning. Do not use coarse sandpaper or grinding wheels.
