I use this stuff (220 WT) for sanding between coats when varnishing, and for removing varnish when I need to re-do a piece completely. For removal (using 100 WT or so), it's great. Other papers clog up with the sanded varnish, but the 3X, used on a random-orbit sander or by hand, seems to last forever without clogging.

I use 3X 400 grit to do final wet sanding on the 2nd or 3rd coat of polyurethane finish on inside of my kitchen cabinets. This creates a Super smooth glossy finish and easy to maintain.
