The product was recommended by a friend who had one in operation. I reviewed several others but they seemed more complicated to install and were of course more expensive. Purchase transaction and shipping was surprisingly efficient. It installed in a snap and I simply updated my battery bank amp hour capacity. That's all! Extremely satisfied with my decision to go with this product and would recomment it without hesitation.

Thing works just as advertised. The reason it is not getting a perfect score is because I wish the Shunt bolts could be longer. A lot of negative leads must got to one side and some are very large and thick AKA Alternator lead, Battery charger leads and main panel lead. HAd to instal a bus bar and link it to Shunt. Unit it self work beautifully!

A good product at a good price. Physically easy to install, but setup requires technical knowledge of battery specifications. I find that I now have to carefully check the price of items sold by Jamestown as many are full retail or above and are available at other retailers at more reasonable prices. In the past I was able to trust the Jamestown price would be one of the lower available.

Perfect monitor that was easy to setup. The one thing you need to watch is your ground terminal. Make sure you have all of your grounds terminated in one place, then connect it to the shunt. This way you can capture all of your energy use. Perfect performance from the start - wish I would have installed this sooner.

I installed the Victron BMV 660 monitor a week ago. I'm happy with it's performance and it's given me some peace of mind about my new batteries and alternator working properly. The setup instructions are somewhat confusing and there is actually a mistake in the instructions. When you have new fully charged batteries; the only thing you really need to set is the battery capacity and that part of the setup is pretty easy. In use there are + and - keys that you use to scroll thru the short list of monitored parameters.

Overall I'm very pleased with this product. It comes with a 500 amp shunt; other battery monitors come with a 100 amp shunt which isn't always enough. Installation is straight forward, cabling is easy. Once the unit is configured the unit is easy to use and understand. The user's manual could use some improvement and accuracy checking.

This is a great unit. I owned a Xantrex Link 10 that was buggy and then it finally died. Seeing as I had very bad luck with Xantrex products I looked elsewhere and found this. I replaced the Link 10 with this Victron BMV-600 and it is actually MUCH easier to install, easier to use, and one heck of a lot less money. Every boat should come standard with a BMV-600 !
