Questions & Answers about Brass 3 Way Fuel Selector Valve:
2013-03-03CHARLES MAYO asked: I have to diesel tanks so will this valve allow either tank one or tank two or BOTH - I am wanting to be able to choose 1,2,or both tanks to be n line to the engine?

2013-03-05GENE FLEMING: My understanding is that you select tank one, tank two, or off. You can't select both tanks at once.
2013-03-05GALEN HANSELMAN: It will select one tank or the other but not both at the same time.
2013-03-05Ed Murphy: There is no option for both. It is either port, starboard or totally off. You can not draw from two tanks at the same time
2013-03-06William renwick: Sorry, I'm 700 miles away from the valve, which I have not yet installed in the boat, and I just don't recall whether it has a "both" option.
2013-03-06JONATHAN BLAKE: No, only tank 1 or tank 2
2013-03-06NICK MURRAY: This will allow one tank or the other to be selected. You would need to add a bypass valve to one of the tank lines, (with a T connection) and that would allow you to use both tanks at the same time.
2013-03-06BLAYNE CURTIS: One or the other not both
2013-03-15JOHN LAQUIERE: This valve will only choose left to center or right to center, but not both.
2013-01-12A shopper asked: Is this an "L" type 3way or a "T" type 3way? Thanks

2013-01-14BLAYNE CURTIS: The valve works at 90 degrees so L I guess
2013-01-14William renwick: If I understand the question correctly, then it is an L. I use it with one output and either of two inputs (two fuel tanks). I can select either left tank or right tank. Not sure if I can use both tanks at once (the valve is there and I am here).
2013-01-14FRANK SMITH: Its more of an "L" and a straight thru than a "T" left or right.
2013-01-15KARL LAHM: The valve permits continuous rotation, but internally its passage is "L" shaped. So only two of four possible orientations pass fluid.
2013-01-15NICK MURRAY: It's a 1/4 turn valve.. either the right and middle are connected, or the middle and left. I think that would be an L type three way? YES L type: it wont let me add a URL, but type the following into Google and click on the first link:

2012-07-04A shopper asked: Ok, how does this valve work. I have 2 tanks and the decal on the boat i recently purchased shows to point the pointer of the valve in this pic to the leg pointing downward for starboard which just doesn't make sense and when I also go to switch to port, the jet shuts off. It all doesn't make sense in relationship to how the gas lines are run. I am thinking maybe the decal just was not replaced when this valve was installed maybe. So if I have this valve installed, to get gas out of the starboard tank where would i have the small pointer positioned? What about Port? Thanks in advance for your response or ideas.
2012-04-19ED W asked: are you sure this works? I returned other, they would not open to second tank, only to one tank , when switched to second tank , it would shut off

2012-04-19BLAYNE CURTIS: It works but selector is 90 degrees not 180 degrees from tank 1 to tank 2.
2012-05-31William renwick: Have not installed it yet. Blowing through it, it seems to work although the position of the handle doesn't make sense in relation to the orientation of the tubes.
2012-01-24JOHN JORDAN asked: Does this 3 way valve also have an off setting? I'd like to draw from 2 fuel tanks, but also be able to shut both off.
John
2011-09-20JOHN CONEELL asked: I have a TED WILLIAMS 5.5 OUTBOARD ENGINE{sears} and it can be run with its own tank or with a remote tank.....however the PETCOCK doesnt work....can this unit replace the one on the engine???
2011-07-30GENE R asked: can I buy only the handle? mine is broken
