Poorly engineered metal angle pieces that collect water at the bends and prematurely rust. Should be constructed of better material. Pretty pricey item that only last 2 seasons with weekend use.

The product was very strong and attached easily. However, the instructions and ordering information should detail the size relative to the maximum width of the boat. Luckily, I was able to extend mine to the limit for my 14' aluminum fishing boat since it flared out to just over 5'.
