Comments about TACO Flexible Vinyl Rub Rail Inserts - Black:

The pricing including shipping costs were lower than any other place on the web. The material comes coiled in a box and was easy to manipulate and slot into the bracket. I used a flathead screwdriver to press the top tab into place without leaving any marks or indentions. It was much easier to install with help from another person. I used a rubber mallet to lightly tap the rail into place. This is an easy install for beginners.

Comments about TACO Flexible Vinyl Rub Rail Inserts - Black:

My 23-year-old Donzi rub rail insert had hardened over the years and was pulling out of the rail base regularly. I was able to remove the old rub rail insert in about 30 minutes. Because many of the screws securing the rail base to the hull were bent or broken, I spent a couple of hours removing the bad screws and replacing them with larger screws, as well as drilling and installing new screw placements in the highest stress areas. Removing and replacing the old sealant took another couple of hours. Installing the new rub rail took about an hour and was easier than I thought due to its pliability. The boat was on its trailer, and most of it went in by just placing it in the upper rail and pushing up and in on the bottom to get in the lower rail. A rubber mallet was used to get it home in a couple of areas. I guess you would do this upside down if the boat is in the water. My boat is now ready for another 23 years of bad landings!
