I have owned two of these pumps in three years. After second failure, I am in the market for a new pump. They don't last. This one I opened up after it died and it is full of water. Complete seal failure.

When it works, it works great, but you have to clean it often. The time you need it the most seems to be the time it quits. Have had my pool for 5 years and replaced cover pump 3 times. Time to find another.

Pump works great for draining swimming pool and taking water off of the winter cover. Connected 24 foot shop vac hose instead of garden hose adapter. Cuts down the time to drain swimming pool dramatically.

This is my second pump (the first was replaced under warranty). The pump has two significant problems: 1) the plastic clips that hold the leaf strainer on break VERY easily, causing the strainer to fall off when you use it, and 2) the leaf strainer clogs up and needs to be cleaned periodically. There have also been times after a heavy rain where it DID NOT go on (I'd have to walk down to the pool, unplug and replug the plug, and then it would start!)

First product review I've ever done. Not impressed with this pool cover pump. We've been through 3 in 2 seasons. First pump just quit working, second and now third had failures at the garden hose connector/fitting. With that said, when it actually works, it works just fine.

This pump does just what I needed. Set it and forget it because it turns itself on and off. The only thing missing is a hook or ring to help in the placing of the pump on the pool cover, but I wrapped the pool brush around the electric cord several times and help in placement. This is just a minor thing and the ONLY thing I would add. Very happy...
