Comments about Maxwell Windlass Foot Switches:

These replacement foot switches for a Maxwell Freedom 500 windlass fit perfectly and were very easy to install. Only issue was not instructions at all, but pretty easy to figure out.

Comments about Maxwell Windlass Foot Switches:

If you have a Maxwell Windlass, you will undoubtedly have a foot switch to raiser the anchor. They work great! However, after a few years of constant use (we have been sailing to the Bahamas in the winters and Maine in the summers for the past ten years) the contacts may corrode and not work as well or give out altogether. You never want to be in a situation where you have to raise a 66 lb anchor and 100 ft of 3/8ths chain by hand. Therefor if you have a Maxwell windlass you should always carry a spare foot switch. Not two weeks after I ordered and installed mine, a friend who has the same windlass said that his foot switch after eight years wasn't working well and asked where he could get a spare. BTW the Maxwell windlass itself is excellent and has never given me any trouble in over ten years of constant use.
