Avet's HXW 5/2 is the wide model of the HX series and offers the extra line capacity to fish heavier lines and still have enough room for a heavy topshot. The standard HX features coupled with a wide spool makes it an ideal pitch bait rod for marlin.
5:1 gear ratio in high allows you to cast a bait or plug and have a fast retrieve to entice strikes from fast moving gamefish. The 2.1:1 in low gear virtually turns the reel into a winch that is capable of standing up to large pelagics like tuna and billfish.
The combination of 8 stainless ball bearings and an oversized carbon fiber drag make these reels incredibly smooth. The harness lugs can also be reversed (lugs/plugs) for situations when having an attachment point is unimportant.
