Intelligent battery charger
Our intelligent battery chargers are programmed to optimize the charging process. The charger is able to interface with the battery and adjust charging rates dynamically. The charger uses rapid charge mode until the lithium ion battery reaches 80% capacity then slows down charge rate to protect the cells and prolong the battery life. It actually monitors each cell in the battery for optimum charging and to prolong battery life. The charger also recognizes dangerous conditions, such as cold and heat, and prevents charging in these instances.
Ergonomics
At just under 2 lbs, the CXS ultra-compact dimensions with slim handle design take the awkwardness out of tight drilling and driving spots. The C handle design with rubberized grip maximize your power transfer through your arm to the driver.
Durability Design
Festool's MMC electronics technology kicks in before thermal and overload limits are exceeded to prevent damaging effects. The tool will simply shut off temporarily until it returns to temperatures within its parameters.
Unique electronic clutch.
Traditional mechanical drill clutches result in premature wear on the motor and transmission. Festool instead uses an electronic clutch design. That means your Festool cordless drill will last longer and you'll get consistent results every time. Not only that, but you can switch between the drilling and driving modes without losing your clutch setting.

Centrotec Chuck. (1)
For lighter weight and a more compact form factor, use the Centrotec chuck with its full array of interchangeable drill, driver bits and accessories. Using the Centrotec chuck saves approximately a half of a pound of weight when compared to a standard keyless chuck. Quickly change between bits by depressing the outer green ring. The Centrotec chuck comes standard with a magnetic bit holder that works well with standard 1/4-inch hex shank bits.
Keyless Drill Chuck. (2)
The keyless chuck ratcheting action ensures that bits do not slip or work themselves loose. Quickly change to the keyless chuck by depressing the green ring and connecting it to the drill. The CXS-series drills include a non-ratcheting keyless chuck which accepts up to 5/16" in diameter bits.
Right Angle Chuck. (3)
The right-angle chuck provides a 90° angle to the drill transmission for tight spaces. This chuck can swivel a full 360 degrees with 16 locking positions. It can also be combined with the Centrotec or Keyless Drill chucks for additional functionality. Or, just stick a 1/4" hex shank bit right into the right angle chuck itself.
LED
Bright LED lamp increases visibility of the bit and the workpiece for more precise results, even in low light.

Reversible Belt Clip
