TotalBoat Marine Wood Finish

TotalBoat Marine Wood Finish is a protective wood treatment for teak and other wood above the waterline. This flexible, breathable finish provides exceptional weather protection. It's easier to apply and maintain than traditional varnish, with no sanding between coats necessary.

Marine Wood Finish penetrates deeply into the wood pores to create a rich, warm finish, enhancing the natural beauty of your boat's wood. A unique linseed oil and resin formula contains advanced UV inhibitors for greater protection, durability and longevity. Keep your woodwork looking beautiful with the least amount of maintenance necessary.

Goes on like a paint - looks like a varnish

Available in Teak, Satin, and Gloss finishes. Teak is suited for teak and other dark hardwoods. Gloss may be applied over Teak and Satin, but can also be used as a base coat.

  • Refinished Masts

Comments about TotalBoat Marine Wood Finish:

I used this product to refinish the masts on my schooner. It was easy to apply using a foam roller and tipping brush. After three coats I used clear for two more coats. The finished project looked great. My only con for this is that the finish stays green for some time making it difficult to work around the mast without skinning it.

I used it on a twelve year old cherry table that is kept outside. The last outside urethane held up for a year. I hope this lasts much longer. I applied 6 coats and the finish coat is beautiful

Comments about TotalBoat Marine Wood Finish:

We used this product to replace a Rustoleum water base varnish that "milked" in an Oday sailboat after one year. After removing the latex varnish we sanded the teak and applied the Total Boat Wood Finish without thinning. We got good coverage on the first of three coats. Being thick it did not drip off the brush. A big bonus when coating fine teak trim pieces. Teak is a finicky wood to coat and I believe we will get good life from this product (so does our customer). In the future I think I would miix the teak with some clear to reduce the orange color a bit - just a personal preference however.

Comments about TotalBoat Marine Wood Finish:

I used TotalBoat Wood Finish to revitilize my very worn 43 year old teak rails in my O'Day. Worked well, looks great and easy to use. When I had a small drip or brushline on the deck (by my hand) it was extremely easy to wipe off. It went on without incident and dried to a great finish. I am very pleased with this product!

Comments about TotalBoat Marine Wood Finish:

This is not a clear finish to be used for wood other than teak. The natural teak tinting will darken other more porous wood.
The marketing label should clearly state the contents when it also states for use with other wood.

Comments about TotalBoat Marine Wood Finish:

Refinished my teak patio furniture. Loved the deep rich color. It was supper glossy which I did not care for on the furniture. It was so shinny that it made the furniture look like plastic. Does it come in a matt finish?

The product is very stiff and a bit hard to apply. Great care had to be taken to avoid runs if not smoothed out. Had much better luck with thinning 4:! with turpentine. I did this with the first coat on bare wood. It was not advised on subsequent coats, but I did recoat some of the furniture with the thinned product and it seems to have no ill effects.
