2013-01-30JAMES KNOTTS asked: is silkaflex 552 waterproof? bonding stainless steel sink to corian countertop

2013-01-31ANGELA MASSEY: I utilize this product in residental window manufacturing. We use it as a bonding agent, glass to vinyl window framing in particular. When used for this purpose the bond is waterproof. I have not utilized this product to set a sink into a countertop, but I believe that it would have the same waterproof effect.
2013-01-31RICHARD ALLEN: I know sika flex 229 is i would chech their website it should list uses.
2013-01-31Ron Labrousse: I've only used it for interior purposes, so I can't say with experience that it is. What I would do is bond a couple of scrap pieces of corian together, and let set for a day. Then drop them in a bucket of water, and leave them for a day or two. I would be surprised if they came apart, but that would tell you for sure if the joint is waterproof.
2012-05-09BOB RANDALL asked: I am looking for a clear, permanent glass to glass adhesive. Any product recommendations?

2011-10-19ABEL RAMOS: Hi,
Yes, absolutely Sikaflex would work for that application, it is used often in place of rivets on Mass Transit vehicles.
2011-10-19ROBERT CHURCH: To be certain, I would contact Sika, but I used Sikaflex 295UV to install all the polycarbonate ports on my boat several years ago and have had no problems thus far. They were installed per Sika instructions using the cleaner and primer for polycarbonate. No fasteners, just the adhesive. Before I bought the Sikaflex I contacted 3M about using 5200, but they said they couldn't recommend it without fasteners. I didn't do any destructive tests on the ports, but I've sailed in some pretty rough seas since the installation.
2011-10-20DENNIS SMITH: I used Sikaflex 295UV for bonding a plexiglas canopy to an aluminum frame on my airplane. It worked extremely well, but before I used it I called Sika and asked them about the application and what primer to use. They were very helpful. I'd recommend double check with Sika, but from the product description it looks like its just what you need.
