Cal-Stripes 055 series Single Stripe/One Color Striping Tape is 1/2" wide by 150' in length.
PROFESSIONAL STRIPING KIT - DURABLE, EASY TO APPLY
Read instructions carefully before applying tapes. Surface temperature should not exceed 65F (18.3C). To cool surface, use a damp cloth or sponge.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Surface must be clean. Remove all wax, dirt, oil or grease from desired surface.
Peel backing paper off, exposing adhesive. Press onto desired surface. Do not over stretch tape during application.
Go over entire tape with a soft cloth, to ensure bond.
Tapes have a clear removable top liner. To remove this liner, pull parallel with the stripe. Not at right angle.
Allow at least 3 hours in sunlight before washing, waxing, etc. Since a wide variation in surfaces and finishes exists, no guarantee is expressed or implied as to removability, damage to surface, etc.

2011-11-29KEVIN REGAN: Tape is durable and easy to apply.
2011-11-29KENNETH RICHMOND: I installed this as replacment striping on the fore deck and the top of an arch of a Fantasy 13 in April of this year. It has stuck through cleaner wax and polish and the wine red color has not faded. I prepped the surface first with "Bleechwhite" White Wall Tire Cleeaner followed by a rub with a cloth soaked in "red" can BRAKLEEN (Clorinated).
2011-11-29BOB BONNEN: I have had it on a wood kayak for almost 2 years and it is fine, adhesive and color is good with no fading from the sun. It will stretch a little if you need it to for a slight curve - goes on easy. Hope this helps - Bob
2011-11-29GERALD HATTON: The tape is durable. You can't tear it with your fingers with the backing off. We wanted to patch our white strip on our 2010 Bayliner but the white didn't match as a patch.I would use it if I needed to replace the whole strip.

I used the tape as a trim just above the waterline on a 16' rowboat. It has held up reasonably well considering the battering it takes. It was a little tricky around the corners to the stern but finessed it in place. Think I might use a hair dryer next time and see if that might make the corner transition better.

Really can't comment on the durability as I've only had the boat in the water one time. However, It did go on very well. My past experience with good quality striping (and I believe this is) is that its all in the preparation. I used laquer thiner and then followed up with windex to be sure the surface was spotless. Then after installation I went over it with a heat gun and a cloth to assure good adhesion. I've done a lot of striping in the automotive industry (in large volumes) and have foud almost no failures with proper installation.
2011-11-30BOB PARKER: My first application of the tape lasted almost 15 years. To remove old tape carefully use a heat gun and a putty knife. Replace with new tape right over the glue line of the old. Do not stretch the tape when applying.
