12 Gauge Marine Tinned Primary Wire
12 AWG - Nominal OD Size: 5/32"
Constructed to American Wire Gauge standards, AWG wire is up to twelve percent larger than the equivalent SAE wire sizes. AWG wire provides a greater current capacity when compared to SAE gauge wire.
Marine Tinned Wire and Cables are manufactured from tin coated copper strands for maximum protection against corrosion, electrolysis and resists fatigue due to vibration and flexing.
Rated at 600 volts and 105 degrees C, the heavy duty insulation is resistant to heat and abrasion. Exceeds all UL1426, US Coast Guard Charterboat (CFR title 46) and ABYC standards.

2012-12-31A shopper asked: is this a single wire or does this have 3 wires like housing wire?
+Expand Answers
2013-01-02CHARLES EDDY: single wire
2013-01-02RON RICCI: This is a single conductor wire, consisting of multiple strands. The strands are smaller gauge wire wrapped around each other. The insulation covers the single conductor.
It is NOT the same as typical wire used in a house. House wire (type NM or 'Romex') consists of multiple conductors each with its own insulation cover and a bare ground. The separate conductors are covered by an overall jacket. House wire also has solid conductors.
The marine grade wire is tinned to resist corrosion and is much less likely to break due to flexing.
2013-01-02STEPHEN JONES: This is multi-strand conductor wire with each strand of copper tinned. Under ABYC (American Boat and Yacht Council) Standards and Technical Information Reports for Small Craft, Purple is used for either Ignition or Instrument Feed. It is one leg (ungrounded) of the DC circuit. The return leg (grounded) in a DC circuit is either Yellow or Black with a Yellow Stripe.
House wire generally has an outer cover over three insulated conductors. The conductors are single conductor copper wire color coded white, black and green.
2013-01-02DONALD NEWKIRK: It is stranded wire (several strands).
2013-01-03DAN BLATT: Single wire
2013-01-03DAVID IRWIN: Primary Wire are individual conductor wires. The wire is multistanded though not like solid conductor "house wiring" . It is similar to THHN wire run in conduit for electrical wiring on land, but each of the stands is plated with tin for corrision resistance.
2013-01-03ROBERT DAUBENBERGER: it has 3 wires within a jacket it comes in many diferent combations
