Sherwood impellers fit a variety of pumps in marine applications, including marine engine water pumps and bilge pumps. It is common practice to inspect and replace flexible impellers annually as preventative maintenance against pump failure. Spare water pump impellers for the engine coolant system should be kept on board.
Sherwood recommends neoprene impellers for engine cooling pumps and nitrile for bilge pumps or transfer duties where water is heavily contaminated with oil or diesel. (Part numbers ending in K designate impeller kits which include impeller, gasket and o-ring.)

2011-12-19KIM GILLIS: wow, not sure we dont service this water pump here in texas to my knowledge, try to google the pump or remove the impeller and get some #s off of it, last case take the impeller to your closest shop and get them to match it up.

Two impellers and Gasket needed?

Problem is there is nothing left of the impellars to get the width. The depth of the impeller is aprox. 1 3/16". The diamiter is about 2". 2011-09-13JOHN GREFFET: You should be able to measure the pump, that is the area that the impeller fits into. Keep in mind that the veins of the new impeller actually fold over when installed. For example, if the diameter of your opening is 2", you proably want an impeller that is 2.125 or 2.25 in diameter. The shaft diameter should be easy to determine and I would think the thickness could be determined by the wear pattern in you pump. I hope this helps.
2011-10-12JOHN BEDECK: I dont really understand the question. the impeller only has a dia with number of vanes and a width. hes said its 2 inch dia and 1and3/16 deep I woutd look for the sherwood number on the base. my impeller was for a 70 century resorter. or buy a new pump.
2011-11-03REX MCMILLEN: What i did was took the pump off and found the brand name & model of the pump . did a search online for that brand name and found the pump i have . it had a break down and all the part numbers , you could purchase all the parts seperate or in minor or major repair kits.
Only distributer that sold a OEM replacement for a Yamaha sterndrive impeller. The provided reference charts were a great help.

The impellers are OEM quality. The price from Jamestown Dist. is less than half that of the engine manufacturer, who sells the identical product in the original box placed inside their own box (i.e. ripoff.)
