2013-05-21AL HAILEY: I installed this switch in the remote control for a 199630HP Johnson. It was easy to install and worked perfectly. the switch activates the choke by pushing in the key when turning it. Not sure if it will work on a 1980 control though.

2012-11-07Nathan Fournier: The wires are for the MAGNETO CIRCUIT, CHOKE, IGNITION CIRCUIT, SOLENOID, BATTERY POWER, and BATTERY GROUND, with the battery going to it's own ground, thank you.

2012-09-26MITCHELL WARFUEL: Hello,
I don't know if I can help since my console already had a switch in it. All I did was take a couple pictures and lable each wire as I disconnected it, making a blue print of which terminal it came from and what color it was. That's all I did and it worked out great. I hope this helps. I also run Amsoil Saber Outboard Pre mix in my 90hp, (took off the VRO pump) very little smoke and great performance!!!

2012-09-27DUANE BRAYTON: My motor is a 1977 70Hp. This information is from the B736 Clymer Evinrude/ Johnson shop Manual and worked for me. I hope this helps
S Start terminal On 1977 motor, white wire. Others Red & Yellow.
M Magneto Black wire
