Available in liquid and thickened formulations, liquid G Flex 650 is a two part (resin and hardener) mixed at a 1:1 ratio. G/flex 655 is also a two part epoxy adhesive, but contains a thickening agent.

I holed my royalex canoe seal launching into a rock. I knew normal epoxy resins would be too stiff to last for a long time. Canoe shop owner suggested g-flex. I used 2 layers 6oz. fiberglass and the g-flex, repair done in the low 30's for temperature, certainly not ideal. Patch is holding well, and is not stiff like other resins.I like how this stuff flexes, and it's tough as well.

I sent an email requesting a refund after finding out that this product did not properly bond to my Old Town Canoe. I followed all instructions and even heat treated the plastic, but after one easy canoe trip, the West System Epoxy failed. I would appreciate a response from your company as to my refund request. As stated in the email, I still have 1/4 bottle of each and would like to return.

Comments about WEST System G/flex Liquid Epoxy Kits:

I purchased the G/flex Liquid Epoxy kit to repair a broken kayak paddle blade. It had broken giving me a clean 90 degree angle to work with or I probably would have scrapped it. I'm not much of a prep person, just sanded and filed to give me a groove between the broken pieces. It worked great. So good, I decided to patch a hole on the bottom of a poly kayak. It started as a wear hole, but when I attempted to heat repair it, I created a large hole, probably 2" by 4". I then decided to use the G/flex. I sanded but didn't heat treat. I taped plastic wrap on the inside of the kayak and coated the outside generously. Then, I removed the plastic wrap and did the same on the inside 'sandwiching' the hole. I have floated a creek all summer, scraping and banging rocks, and this stuff has held up incredibly! I also did a repair on a cracked plastic radiator tank and it held as well!

I am restoring a 1957 Century Arabian and have used many epoxy products. But West G Flex is simply the easiest to use and an excellent option when repairing original frame and hull components is the objective. For a classis lie this repairs are preferred to replacements and I can only do that with West G Flex. I have tried many epoxies from discount to expensive and this is just the best to work with.

I have an old wooden ketch. I glassed the decks with 105/206 and biaxial cloth with mat. The glass extended over the top of the stem 9end grain). After a year or so, the glass separated from the end grain. I removed the old glass, drilled some holes in the end grain, filled the hole, glassed over with several layers of cloth (Gflex os too thick to soak into biaxial). Three years and is still good.
