2012-01-12JOHN SPEAS: The filter is rated at 2,000 gallons. I change the filter each spring when I "de-winterize" and do not worry about it.
2012-01-12FRANK MALLUCHE: The manufacturer recommends to change filters after 2000 gallons. We usually run between 10 and 20 gallons per trip through the filter (drinking water). To avoid freezing I also disconnect the filter during the cold season which might have a negative impact on the longevity. At this point I'm planning on replacing the current unit in our RV towards the end of the year, which would be the third season for the filter.

2012-02-07RICHARD SLEPICKA: We have used this system for four years now. It came with our RV.
It was suggested that we change it every year. Since we winterize our RV, we just take it out in the fall and put in a new one in the spring.
Your usage of your RV might also determine how often you change it. If you are full timing and occasionally get some bad water, you may want to change it mid-summer
Hope this helps. Good luck.
2012-02-28JOHN OROURKE: On water filters I usually wait for the flow to slow significantly, which indicates it's time to change. But mine is nearly two years old and the flow has not decreased, so I changed mine. In my experience, most filters should be changed about annually.

I purchased same item last year, wrote a review, and said I'd be back. Time to get RV out of storage and install new filter, so I purchased again on-line. Good company to deal with. Thanks
