Moeller fuel filters are designed to trap the smallest particles and emulsified water from gasoline. Filtration media will not separate two-cycle oil fom gasoline.
Water separating canisters ensure no other contaminates or rust will contribute to a blocked fuel system. High performance 3/8 NPT ports offer lower pressure drop rates.
Not recommended for use with diesel engines or with electric fuel pumps using in-line filters.

2012-05-23WILLIAM ADLER: You can use anything that will spin on and fit the existing filter mount. However you may have to buy a mount for a specific make of filter but that is not big deal. First choose a filter set up you want then see if you can also get the mount for that set up. Racor makes mounts and filter setups with clear (and drainable) filter bowls.
2011-11-08DUANE L. asked: I have a Mercruiser inboard/outboard (Stern drive) eninge 4 cylinder, 170 HP. Which type of Moeller fuel filter with water separator would I install. There is one model that has a clear plastic container that you can unscrew at the bottom of the white filter but I have a question about the plastic since it is near the engine and I a concerned about the heat factor.
Which filter model would be appropriate for my situation?
Does anyone out there have a suggestion for these concerns?

2011-10-03STEVE SHAFFER: installation is pretty straightforward first buy yourself a good filter wrench that fits the size of your filter. after removal of old filter and rubber gasket ( sometimes the old one will stick to the filter base). Put a few drops of clean engine oil on filter gasket and spin filter on, when gasket makes contact with base tighten another full turn. my fuel line that goes to the filter has a priming ball on it so i give that 40 or 50 pumps to prime. Run engines and check for leaks. Remember righty tighty and lefty loosey.
