The Marinco Reverse Y Adapter 167RYN) is used on boats with 50A 125V/250 volt inlets in instances where only 30A 125 volt receptacles are available on the dock.
The two 30A 125 volt dockside receptacles must be supplied from a single power source which provides from 208 volts to 250 volts between them, otherwise the Reverse Y will not operate.
Boats with 50A 125 volt inlets cannot use the Reverse Y. Marinco Adapters are safe, reliable, compact and weather resistant. Comes with 5 year warranty.

Q: What is the difference between 50 amp 125 volt and 50 amp 125/250 volt?
A: The blade configurations are different. In other words, one system may not be used with the other.
50 amp 125 volt is a 3 wire system (1 hot wire, 1 neutral, 1 ground).
50 amp 125/250 volt is a 4 wire system (2 hot wires, 1 neutral, 1 ground).
Note: Each device has 3 blades. The 4 wire devices are grounded on the side.

This is the best way (and the only safe one) to get some power from twin 125v/30a dock service to 125/250v 50a boat electrical inlet/s. My boat has twin 125v/50a inlets so I use the 167RYN2 (now renamed to the RY504-2-30) to connect from the twin 125v/30a dock outlets to a 12' 50a 125/250v (6152SPP-12SC) power cable and then to a 125/250v 50a Y-adapter that splits the 250v back to twin 125v cables that attach to the boats inlets. You'll only get 30 amps on each circuit but it's enough to run on-board appliances that total less than 30 amps. (Just a note: dockside connections must be wired correctly - including polarity). This product has excellent construction and it works!
