The Garmin GPSMAP 545 Depth Sounder and GPS is packed with features in a small package. This model is very similar to GPSMAP 440 Series models with the main difference being in the display screen. The 5 inch display has a higher resolution for even clearer displays. It also features a built in antenna which makes this product perfect for smaller boats or open cockpit style boats where mounting an external antenna may be an inconvenience.
500 watts of power allow this unit to be used in shallow and deep water applications. GPSMAP 545 models are dual frequency (50/200kHz) making them capable of reading depths to 1500 feet. Enhanced zoom options and AutoGain technology ensure accurate and detailed readings.
Every GPSMAP 545 device comes preloaded with BlueChart G2 electronic chart data for the entire United States, including Alaska and Hawaii as well as the detailed charts for the Bahamas. The BlueChart G2 data features detailed coastlines, navaids, port plans, depth contours, wrecks, and restricted areas, as well as tide and current data.
The sounder version, GPSMAP 545s, comes with a powerful digital sounder (up to 1 kW) and dual frequency transducer that clearly paints depth contours, fish targets and structure. It is also CANet compatible, so users can share sounder data with another chartplotter on your boat.
The Garmin GPSMAP 545 also compatible with the optional GXM-31 antenna for real time weather from XM Radio which will give users Real Time weather, NEXRAD radar technology, current weather conditions and forecasts, sea surface temperatures, wind and wave direction, wave height, and severe weather alerts.
