Fiberglass Supplies

When building or repairing a boat, take advantage of today's modern building materials.

Fiberglass

Fiberglass is a weather resistant material that is easy to use over wood or other composite materials. Fiberglass boat building has been a staple in boatbuilding / boat construction since World War II. It is strong, fairly light, and does not expand or contract.

Fiberglass, when used with a variety of epoxy resins, is easy to work with and inexpensive. We offer many sizes of fiberglass cloth, as well as fiberglass tape, E-glass Biaxial Cloth, Woven Roving (2 weights), and Fiberglass Matting. Our fiberglass supplies selection means each material will fit a specific fiberglass boatbuilding need.

Carbon Fiber

Carbon fiber is used to build high-performance racing yachts, like those used in the America's Cup. Ask anyone at NASA and they will surely agree that carbon fiber is the material of the future. It is extremely strong for its weight, thus making it the base for nearly every high performance sailboat out there. From the Olympics to "the Race," carbon is showing up all over: masts, hulls, poles and even battens. We offer precut woven cloth, which is easy to add as a patch for a carbon repair or to make a complete project out of it. Plain Weave, twill weave, or unidirectional.

Kevlar

Kevlar is a patented super strong, super light, heat resistant material. This is the ideal material to build a light, strong, fast kayak or canoe. Made by Dupont, Kevlar has a strength to weight ratio over 5 times that of steel. It is resistant to many chemicals (except powerful acids), and loses no strength due to UV exposure. It is no surprise that this is the material that is similar to the product universally used in bullet proof vests. We offer 38" rolls by the yard, for all of your high impact boat building needs.

We are proud to offer a wide variety of all laminating and composite materials along with all the accessories and tools needed to complete most projects. Most come in pre-cut, pre-packaged form, but cut lengths and full rolls are also available of each one.
