3M Respirators
It's important that you determine what type of contaminant and the level of concentration that you're dealing with before you choose a respirator system. In general terms, we wear a respirator for two reasons:
1. To protect against dust particles
2. To protect against harmful gases and fumes
It is also very important that the respirator fits the wearer properly. There are two types of respirators-the disposable "Dust Mask" type and the Dual-Cartridge respirator. We offer a variety of both for many different uses.
3M 6800 full face respirators have a soft lightweight facepiece and easy-to-adjust head straps for maximum comfort. Requires only limited maintenance time. Just clean as directed between uses. NIOSH approved. The 6800 series respirators are similar to the 6200 but with added eye protection. For use with the 6001 organic vapor cartridge. Can also be used with additional accessories 501 502 and filters 5n11 and 209. Respirators and cartridges sold separately. Size Medium and Large.
3M 8210 general dust and sanding respirator is a dust mask that helps reduce exposure to dust from sanding particle board, drywall, or non-lead based paints and fiberglass insulation dust. Comfortable, lightweight, and completely disposable. NIOSH approval: N95.
3M's 6200 replacement facepiece is a NIOSH/MSHA approved half-mask. Approved for filtering dusts, fumes, mists, and asbestos. Low maintenance and comfortable face piece. Size medium. For use with the 6001 organic vapor cartridge. Can also be used with additional accessories 501 502 and filters 5n11 and 2091. Size Medium.
The 3M PAPR repirator system is NIOSH-approved respirator system that includes a comfort belt-mounted PAPR assembly, breathing tube, lightweight headgear with wide-view lens, and organic vapor/high efficiency cartridge. It is ideal for use when you need mobility.
3M Particulate Respirator 8247 is recommended for nuisance level organic vapor relief. For use in applications where particles are present with concentrations of organic vapors below the OSHA PEL. NIOSH approval: R95.
3M Comfort Mask 8000 provides relief from non-toxic dusts. Not for use with spray paint or any toxic applications. This mask is not a respirator and offers no respiratory protection. It is designed to filter large particles of dust only. **Not NIOSH Approved***
3M Respirators generally fall into three categories: Elastomeric Facepiece Respirators, available in half and full facepiece, offer unsurpassed comfort and maximum versatility in reusable and disposable models. Filtering Facepiece Respirators, which use a variety of patented technologies and features that enable them to filter a broad range of particles, nuisance odors and OSHA substance specific contaminants. Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPRs), which are motorized respirator systems that use a filter to clean ambient air before it is delivered to the breathing zone of the user.
