Threaded and Solid Rods

Stainless Steel 18-8 Threaded Rod is produced with hardened steel dies whose threaded faces press against the periphery of a plain cylindrical stainless steel blank to reform its surface into the threads desired. Rolled threads have increased strength, uniform accuracy and a high degree of surface finish, but do not machine as easily as machine cut threaded rods.

Silicon Bronze Threaded rod is similar in application, only its construction is different. Same with Galvanized rod and brass rod. Threaded rod is used for a number of different through bolting, marine steering and keel / skeg placement.

Solid Rod available in 1, 3, 6 and 12 foot (special freight on 12 ft.) sections. Stainless steel rod and silicon bronze rod are used for many custom projects. Engineers and boat builders use them to make custom fasteners, long support systems and a variety of other purposes. It is fairly simple to create your own thread on either or both ends of the rod.
