I purchased the black cables for the throttle and shift controls on the binnacle on my sail boat. Very smooth operation even with several rather tight directional changes. I recommend these highly.

my old cable has threads at one end but the other end is made into the cable with a small flattened end with a small eye in it

These cables are supplied with a "standard" (not fine) male thread on both ends with a jamb nut. Use the existing connectors off of the old cable.
