Product Details

Interlux Interfill 830 Fast Cure Epoxy Profiling Filler is a two-part epoxy filler that can be used above the waterline to prepare the surface prior to applying topside finishes, and can be used to fill pinholes between coats of two-part polyurethanes, due to its ability to trowel to a very fine, smooth finish. Interfill Epoxy Filler can also be used below the waterline to fill blisters and as part of a keel fairing system.

If Interfill Epoxy Filler is used below the waterline, it must be overcoated with four coats of Interprotect 2000E/2001E. The cured epoxy has excellent solvent resistance and will not be attacked by the strong solvent in two-part polyurethanes or epoxies.

NOTE: Interfill 830 is a TWO PART epoxy. In order for this product to work properly, the Fast Curing Agent MUST be purchased in addition to the Base.

FOR PROFESSIONAL USE ONLY.

APPLICATION AND USE

Preparation

FIBERGLASS OR GELCOAT: Wipe with Fiberglass Solvent Wash 202. Sand with 80 grade (grit) paper. Remove sanding residue.

CLEAR EPOXY: Wash down with fresh water. Sand with 80 grade (grit) paper. Remove sanding residue.

EPOXY PRIMERS: Sand with 80 grade (grit) paper. Remove sanding residue.

Thinner Reducing Solvent 2316N. Brush Thinner 2333N.

Thinning Thinning is not necessary in most situations. If thinning is required for very thin film applications, use Reducing Solvent 2316N. Alternatively Brush Thinner 2333N can be used. The addition of thinner will cause shrinkage of Interfill Epoxy Filler.

a bit stiff
By pegasus from Long Island NY

This product works well, but its working consistency is a bit stiff to be able to smoothly fair the repaired area with the surrounding gelcoat. The overfill is a bit thick and requires some effort (sanding) to remove. I prefer Interlux Watertite for filling small blemishes in the gelcoat - it goes on like mayonnaise and is easy to manage with a spatula.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend
