Question

Can this bolt be used under water? My use would be to attach a strut.

After a good deal of research I bought these to use on a 26' wood boat that I was building. I used them for both the strut and the rudder. I came through the hull and then through 3/8" brass plate fastened with the bronze nuts.

Answer

Sure. It's silicon bronze which is pretty much the best alloy for underwater use. I've got three of these holding my rudder onto my rudder post, and they've been in service two years now with no problems.
