Question

have you ever had a leak from the bottom plate--the one held on with 9 screws? Looks like the screw holes in the diaphragm are no longer round and thus allowing a leak. My pump is ONLY 2 yrs old.

I've learned the VIBRATION DAMPNER--the seal beneath the bottom plate is the culprit. Sells for about $38. I found a BLOG under sailboats with a guy complaining of the same problem. I had to call JABSCO directly to get the part. Hopefully it's an easy fix. My pump is ONLY 1 yr old, not 2.

That happened to us last year afterb11years with the same model. I went for the repair kit, but it didn't work. The good news, Jamestown had it ( the new pump) in sto for a better price than I saw elsewhere. Up and running now, hooe yours is more accessible than mine

Question

My pump is 2 years old and it does not want to come on. When I power it from a switch, I have to tap the motor with a flashlite to get it to run. It wil work for a while, then back down to the bildge for another tap. very frusterating. Any ideas?

There are really only a few components that get squirrely on these. The motor, impeller, or pressure switch (for models that have one) seem to be a trouble spot.
