Answer

I purchased this bilge pump and the four 1/4" holes are on 4 1/4" centers in both directions. Perhaps this will help you determine if it will fit your old mounting holes.

Answer

When replacing a Gusher 8 with the Urchin, the original bulkhead mounted Gusher 8 pump inlet valve was oriented down. So as to not have to replace the hoses, the Urchin was mounted the same. The Fixed Handle had to be rotated to clear the hatch cover but by following the 'arrow' on the outlet valve the hoses could be connected correctly. The pump works great in this position with the inlet valve down and the outlet on top.

Question

how do I mount BP9013 Thru Deck/Bulkhead Mount with Removable Handle to my cockpit locker so that only the cover is visible on the outside of the locker vertical wall?

You remove the face plate by the 4 machine screws, drill any necessary holes, and then reassemble the faceplate to the pump with the deck or bulkhead in the middle. The only trick is to get the holes lined up so it goes together easily.

Answer Question

Question

Can I use 1 1/8 hose with this pump instead of 1" or 1.5"?

Asked on 01/09/2018 by Stee from Florida

Top Answer

The pump comes with fittings for 1" or 1.5", but if you already have 1-1/8" hose, you can probably get an adapter to go up to 1.5". You would not want to reduce down in size to 1" because you would lose pumping power and reduce your gpm.
