Great Product

I've used Vivid on my sailboat for several years and always had good results in Narragansett bay. I haul every other year so by the end of the second year in the water the paint is pretty thin. I cruise and race my boat and the bottom gets frequent cleaning (3-5 weeks). My diver states my hull is one of the easiest to clean. I gallon white with 1 qt blue makes a very nice light blue color. My prep is wash the hull w/TSP and borax with a scotchbrite and paint. I havn't sanded in 10 years. I only wish it was cheaper and that JD had local customer pick-up. I hate having to ship a product 10 miles.

I will never buy from Jamestown again!

I had no use for the extra two gallons I had over ordered just incase I did need them during the job. So I had reached out to the customer service team and was instructed to send it back to them (I had to pay out of pocket, insure it over $1,000 and gain hazmat material certification), own a company that specializes in shipping expensive product so I am familiar with how to properly package and secure expensive items in a box. Well I had a feeling Jamestown was going to pull a fast one on me and obtain the product and not credit me for it, and they did. I took images of the new product prior to shipping and it securely packaged and they claim it was recieved damaged. No damage to be seen and the pain was still usable and in resellable condition. Long story short I will not ever buy from them again and I will highly deter my friends in the boating comunnity away from them. Terrible customer service!

HORRIBLE COLOR & CUSTOMER SERVICE STAY AWAY!!!

Absolutely does not represent the blue color as seen online, obviosuly there will be a slight difference from the online color to the in-person... this was apples to oranges. Extremely unhappy and tried contacting customer service, they admitted to it not matching and were unwilling to do anything about it. I spent close to 3k on paints for it to turn out horrible and even worse customer service when I contacted to find a resolution.

Great product and great product support

Used boat we had purchased had hull blisters, I consulted Jamestown support for my repair effort.. After grinding out all the blisters with a 80 grit disk pad, and cleaning the boating, I used the west systems SIX TEN product ( I'm sure Thixo would work just as well) , I applied 2 coats to each blister, washing the amine blush in between and sanding again with 80 grit. After the second coat of epoxy, we again washed the amine blush off , sanded, and used total boat fairing, which got us to a match level surface contour. We then sanding the entire boat bottom after marking the water line, cleaned the surface, and then applied the Total Boat Total protect , with 4 coats of the product with 3/16 roller, used about 1 1/2 gallons. We then bottom painted using the Vivid product since we're trailering the boat, applying 2 coats within the time frames instructed and we couldn't be happier with how the product applied and looks . Next step is launching the boat this weekend, and re-trailering to see how the boat looks. I wouldn't hesitate using this product based off of all the research I found and the product support available . Thanks Jamestown for helping me through this process..

Bottom Paint

We keep the boat in our saltwater canal, and use it for offshore. We ALSO trailer the boat to other great offshore locations. This product does BOTH for us, Its part Ablative, and part Hard bottom paint.

Not bright white

Built a 18' bay boat. I wanted the bottom to be white. I bought 2 quarts and painted the bottom. The color is now yellowish white or oyster white. This isn't what the description read. It described Vivid white as the "" whitest of whites"". Spent $200 plus . What a waste. Jamestown did deliver quickly with no problems though. Disappointed, Pettit is a good boat paint, but not this time
