Product Details

Trinidad Pro combines the severe antifouling protection of Trinidad SR, in a hard modified epoxy formula ideal for professional boat painters. This slime resistant bottom paint has a hard, durable finish with high copper content and dual biocodes for years of reliable performance in even the worst fouling conditions. Get unprecedented resistance to barnacles, algae, slime and other marine and fresh-water fouling organisms.

While existing soft antifouling coatings must be removed prior to painting, Trinidad Pro is compatible with all properly prepared hard bottom paints, and permits safe overcoating without fear of lifting. This paint features excellent adhesion to fiberglass, wood and steel hulls and is perfect for both power and sail boats. Expect years of service if your boat is left in the water. Use Pettit's 120 Brushing Thinner for thinning up to 10%.

Available in Gallons in Black, Blue, Green, and Red.

Petit Trinidad Pro Bottom Paint
By Curt from Solomons Md.

Petit Trinidad Pro Hard and Ablative bottom paints are the creme de la creme of bottom paint, IMHO. Before the current vessel we own, we had a 38-foot sailboat on which we used Trinidad Pro paints. We opted to use the same bottom preparation and paint we previously used on our new boat since we had such a successful experience. Although I am sure the longevity and effectiveness of the paint have everything to do with the bottom preparation and the three coats applied (four around the scum line) after a couple of coats of Petit Epoxy Barrier coat once the hull was blasted and thoroughly sanded. The Trinidad Pro hard paint lasted 3.5 years before allowing any growth to appear. Although we are moored in Solomons, the growth here is more or less some barnacles, worms, and algae (Scum). BTW, during this period, the sailboat was rarely used to sail due to unforeseen medical issues, so if growth were going to happen, it would have happened during this three-and-a-half-year period. The second repaint after the hard paint application, the Trinidad Pro Ablative paint, lasted nearly three years before it was noticed that a refresh would be needed. However, during the haul-outs at either time, that paint appeared to be in terrific condition and may have lasted a little longer. I realize Trinidad Pro paint is at the higher end of the cost spectrum, but in the bottom paint world, you get what you pay for! I highly recommend this paint, and I guarantee you, if you follow the application instructions, you won't be sorry you spent the little extra money and used Petit Trinidad Pro. I am going to paint our current boat bottom (a Trawler) with the Petit Hard bottom paint this year. I hope if this review helps you make a decision, you will have the same results as us.

I'll be buying it again.
By Whitey from Nantasket Beach, Hull, MA

Area of use: Boston Harbor, sailboat Typically a pretty heavy fouling area, especially late summer. I experienced no hard growth. Only some slime and soft growth that cleaned off very easily. The guy who professionally cleans boat bottoms around here recommended it to me.
