#8 Oval head slotted drive self tapping screws made of stainless steel. Sometimes called sheet metal screws or self tappers, these fasteners are common for home repairs as well as installing hardware on your boat. Oval head screws are used primarily for trim work or anywhere a smooth top is desired. The slightly rounded head projects above the finished surface and prevents the snags that occur when a flat head screw is not fully countersunk. Use where appearance is a factor. Slotted drive is also called straight slot drive.

Perfect oval head SS screws

It's getting harder and harder to find oval head self tapping or wood screws of any dimension, particularly with slotted heads and in stainless steel. The heads on this batch are perfect and take a polish very quickly. The slots are perfect as well - consistent width and centered just right. This is the quality I hope for when ordering and these ones exceeded expectations.
