Pan Heads provide a flat bearing surface under the head--useful for attaching cabinet hardware such as hinges and drawer slides. The flat bearing surface allows for lateral movement (as opposed to a Flat or Oval Head that have a countersunk bearing surface that will self-center in the mounting holes) when attaching hardware. The top surface is flat but has rounded, smooth sides.

18-8 stainless steel Marine grade 300 series stainless steel. 18-8 Stainless is the workhorse for modern boatbuilding. Self Tapping screws are designed for use in sheet metal but are great for mounting hardware onto laminates wood or many other applications. Self Tapping Screws have a deep thread that goes all the way up the shank to the head. All of our Self Tappers have an A point.

All jamestown fasteners are of the best quality. In over 25+ years of using their products I have NEVER had to return a fastener or any other thing I can think of. My one pet peeve: failure to use USPS Priority Flat rate boxes. The shipping costs are thru the roof!For thst reason and that reason alone, I have sought out other suppliers for my galvanized and stainless steel screws, bolts and nails.
