These wood screwa are being used for fastenings where frames are being replaced and sistered. They are a wire size larger than the old fastenings which is a standard step, insuring that they will have sufficient bite and holding power.

Silicon bronze fastenings are of the technology in use for many decades to build and repair or restore wooden vessels. New construction is easiest- but the refastening is tricky in extracting old screws which must be replaced. I find that Frearson style are easier to drive and extract than the single flat head slot.
