#10 Flat head slotted bronze wood screws. Traditional boatbuilders love these Silicon Bronze wood screws because they have cut threads and the full-bodied diameter shank. Unlike rolled thread screws with their reduced shank, these screws have a shank diameter that is the same size as the outside of the threads. This completely fills the clearance hole normally drilled for the shank thus creating a waterproof seal. Remember to drill a body hole for the screw shank and a pilot hole for the threads. All screws are threaded for 2/3 of the shank.

I used these fasteners to install exterior Handrail brackets for a stair. Fastened thru red cedar trim into pressure treated lumber post. Came across your website and found the silicon-bronze screws, a metal-type acceptable for fastening into PT Lumber. Very nice fasteners, look great with the cast brass brackets. Every once in awhile you get lucky. I'm tired of the junk we usually have to buy from the big box stores. I will certainly keep you in mind for future hardware supplies and products. Thank you for a quality product!

I built a traditional wooden boat at the Apprenticeshop in Rockland, Maine, and used at least a couple of hundred of these screws in the build. Flat-head Silicon Bronze wood screws are hard to find, but are preferable to the more common Phillips head screws because they are less likely to strip during installation and removal, which means easier maintenance down the road. Tip: for hardwoods such as oak, a bit of wax or bedding compound applied to the threads can decrease the chance of breakage during fastening. Thank you, Jamestown, for carrying this product!

I'm restoring a 1915 home and wanted to make sure to use screws that are of the quality and look (slotted) of the originals. These bronze screws are the perfect look. They aren't as bright as brass, so they have an aged patina already. They are also don't break as easily as brass. The heads have a swirled machined look just like the old ones. I never thought I'd be this excited about a screw -- these things are beautiful!
