Fiberglass cloth is a woven material available in various sizes to allow custom strength, thickness, and weight in projects. Fiberglass cloth provides great strength and durability when layered with a resin to form a hardened composite. This six ounce cloth is 3.9 mils thick.
Fiberglass cloth has many advantages:Greater tensile strength than steel wire of the same diameter;excellent fire and heat resistance; thermal conductivity (making it useful for insulation applications); and chemical resistance properties similar to glass. Durable and economical.

I was looking for a light cloth to cover seating repaired with 1/4" plywood and this material worked great. It totally disappeared in the resin and provided the light support I needed. I would recommend using the electric shears. I'm not experienced with fiberglass and used scissors. Some parts of the cloth got distorted while cutting. I think the electric shears would make a cleaner cut without as much distortion.

This draped over my project and formed smoothly around the curves as i wet it out. I am no where near good but this shows even amateurs can succeed.

The product was purchased to replace some junk I purchased on Amazon that arrived with a rubbery/waxy coating that made me afraid to use it on my project. The JD product arrived nicely rolled without any creases. Exactly what I expected and I used their Total Boat slow cure epoxy to apply the cloth to my SUP. Both products worked well. One last comment, I ordered on a Monday morning and had the materials at my home early Thursday. That's great service...thanks!

I needed to prepare the fiberglass that had delaminated under the teak on my Cabo Rico 38 rear lazaretto cover. Water had penetrated every layer of the fiberglass and I removed all fiberglass in an area approximately 12 x 8 inches built up new layers of fiberglass before redoing the teak, The lazaretto cover now looks like new again.
