Product Details

Fiberglass cloth tape is made of twisted strands of fiberglass that are woven at right angles to one another. Cloth has the highest glass-to-resin ratio and strength of all fiberglass materials.

Fiberglass tape is usually a narrow, cloth strip with woven edges that prevent unraveling. Use this tape for reinforcing seams and corners, and over epoxy fillets on plywood stitch and glue boats. 8.7 oz/Yd.

Easy to use and strong

Combined with polyurethane resin to reinforce the back of a very large but thin polyurethane resin sculpture. Worked beautifully, especially on flatter surfaces. Incredibly sturdy results.

Good stuff, I have used it with all of west systems epoxies and hardners . The newest was the g-flex line... It was much harder to use but it was worth all the time and money. I suggest the wet out process for g-flex.

Questions

1 - 1 of 1 Question

Q: null I am building a 12' boat and need 2 1/2 pounds of 3__quote__ tape. How many yards does this equate to? Thank you. Dale Heisinger

1 Answer

A: The 3__quote__ fiberglass tape weights 8.7oz. per sq. yd. as discribed in your tech specs. 2-1/2 lbs. is 40oz., 40 divided by 8.7 = 4.6 sq.yds. which equates to 166ft. at 3__quote__ wide. A 50yd. roll will give you 150ft. + a 10yd. roll will give you 30ft. for a total of 180ft. which is about 8% overage. It's alway good to have 5 to 10% overage. I hope this will help you. Good luck with your project, Joe
