I've been trying these with buildup varnish coats based on a positive mention in an article in P.B.. Oddly, the 1-1/2" and 2-1/2" were fine, but the 2" did continue to shed over an hour of use. I did try to pull out lose bristles from the brush before using to no avail. Maybe it was a bad batch.

Brushes are used for many tasks, chip removal, painting, parts cleaning, fiberglass prep. The brushes are nice and thick and used over and over after cleaning. For painting remove loose bristles. I like them and will recommend them.
