These are spiral glued to a cardboard core. The foam delaminates from the spiral. The gaps leave lines of more thickly applied paint. The edges disintigrate, leaving bits of foam behind. Buy something else. These don't deserve to be sold by JD.

I wanted to test it for applying epoxy coatings on wood strip canoes I am building. This thin foam brush cover works very well.

Using for 2 part epoxy primer. The seams leave marks and then fall apart after applying about 4 oz of primer. Afraid to use on the finish coat. Suggest JD/Totalboat stock a 1/8 " one piece foam roller

These foam rollers work fine for one part urethane and mild primers but not for the two part epoxy primers! they will fall apart and leave foam bits all in your paint job. Definitely leave a smoother finish when using paint though

I used these rollers for high gloss bright finishing. The coverage was good but the roller foam started delaminating at the end of the final pass--good thing I was almost done & could brush-tip the glob of varnish that rolled out. Recommend product with some reservations...

I ordered the 9 inch roller covers to get a smooth finish on topside paint. Covers are spiral wound on the core and have separated at the seam leaving gaps. Customer support said "that is strange, if you like we can send you replacements. These are very popular and we never hear complaints." The replacements had the same defect, to which customer support responded "must be how it is with these rollers. I don't blame you for not wanting to use them for a smooth top coat paint project"

Used this roller for TotalBoat Penetrating Epoxy thinned with acetone. The foam delaminates from the core after a couple panels. Thought it might have been the acetone, but used one again without any thinner and it quickly delaminated again.
