I am looking to mount these to large concrete columns on our house to hang a hammock, they would have to hold an adult between 140 and 190 pounds. Will this hold?
Asked on 06/06/2014 by rita clareI would say yes, definitely... assuming you use appropriate fasteners and the concrete columns don't crumble. I ordered two of these for a skiff I built and they were WAY more than I needed. In fact, I ended up using smaller cleats for that project; but you have given me a good idea for the two 6-inch ones I still have. Now I need to look for a hammock...
Answered on 06/06/2014 by JIM BARKERDo these come with screws? If not, I would use a tap con and a 2.5" screw. The concrete and the column are large and very strong.
Answered on 06/06/2014 by rita clarethe cleats are strong enough. It will all depend on how strong your anchor is.
Answered on 06/06/2014 by DEREK THOMASThe cleat itself would hold. If your concrete screws are long enough and the quality of the concrete is sound, then it should hold.
Answered on 06/06/2014 by GERARD CANTORWhat size screws are used with these cleats?
Answered on 06/06/2014 by rita clareThe cleats will hold no problem u will need 2 anchor properly
Answered on 06/06/2014 by WENDY GOMEZI don't know for sure, but I would look for something GUARANTEED to hold at least 400 lbs or more for any application involving suspending a person in the air. The cleats work great to secure a 20' boat, that I can attest to but I don't think the forces involved come close to what you are looking for.

Answered on 07/26/2016 by Rick WhiteNot sure about 10" cleat. The one I bought is a 6", I work on a lot of boats so it might not be one of mine, sorry I'm no help.
Answered on 07/27/2016 by STEVE BRACYThe cleats I bought were 6 inches. The distance between mounting bolts is 1 1/8 inches (width) and 2 1/4 inches (length). Hope that helps!
