Product Details
Add Epifanes Polypropylene Beads to Epifanes monourethane and polyurethane paints for custom non-skid color. You can even use these beads with Epifanes varnishes on places like stairs or seats. Polypropylene absorbs the paint for even, uniform color.
Stir in gradually, allow 15 minutes and stir once more. One 20 gram container is enough for one quart of paint.

Great product

This is exactly what I was looking for. You can still see the beauty of the wood not have a slippery surface. I used it on my teak swim ladder step. Looks fantastic. I made a one piece floor for my roll up inflatable. I covered the wood with fiberglass cloth and epoxy. I used varnish to give it UV protection and the non skid beads in the varnish to have a little grip when getting in out out of the dinghy.

Good concept but hard to use
I bought this product to mix with Matte wood finish on a plywood bow locker. I was excited about the product but found it hard to determine the amount needed to mix in and difficult to spread consistently across the area. I seem to have mixed in too much non-skid, making it very visible once it dried. I was not pleased with the results so sanded off the non-skid and did a final coat of only matte wood finish. I won't give it less than a 3 star review, because its likely that user error had something to do with the less than stellar results!

Epifanes Polypropylene Non-Skid Beads work great!
Refinished the ladder steps to the flybridge with lust and some of the beads. So far it is doing what is expected. The beads blend into the clear finish yet provide the necessary slip protection that I was looking for.

Great product! Works with varnish too!

Great product that shows you do not need a super aggressive anti-skid to be effective! Blends in with paint OR Varnish as it is clear beads! Just keep the product mixed in the paint/varnish, and roll on properly with a foam roller, the results will be wonderful. Currently have 5 years on the deck paint with these beads. Holding up great. Have not lost one bead! Great traction! The product is sold by WEIGHT. The container will not be full. It settles in shipping. A little goes a long way. Read and follow the directions and you will get long lasting results!

Still laughing

I opened this little pill bottle of aggregate and it was half full. Not enough aggregate to cover the dinghy let alone what I was doing.

Q: I added the beads to my fist coat of epifanes polyurethane for my whaler. Can I simply paint over it with second coat ? I know you need to sand between coats after 48 hrs but obviously I can't sand because the beads are already down. Will a second layer stick with out sanding or Im I in trouble?
2 years ago1 Answer
A: Best practice is to save the beads for the last coat. You'll have to sand with 220. That will knock the beads down but if you don't sand the next layer of paint won't stick.

Q: best way to apply: Brush, roller or foam brush,

A: Hey Joe, Thank you for reaching out. Any of the options will work just fine, though roller may give you the most even application on larger surfaces. Like another responder said you can also sprinkle the beads between coats.

Q: What is the coverage for this 20 grams?
4 years ago5 Answers
A: I can not tell you how much coverage you will get. I used a small quantity of beads in about 2cups of lust finish to coat the treads of my ladder to the fly bridge. Your coverage will depend on how course you want the surface to be. I can say that Lust finish holds the beads very well and provides good slip resistants.

Q: How do I use the non skid beads with Epifanes two part polyurethane? Do I mix beads into paint before adding the second part catalyst? Can the paint with non skid beads be rolled on, and if so, what kind of roller should I use?
4 years ago4 Answers
A: The way I do it is to put a coat of paint on and sprinkle the nonskid over the wet paint. Let the paint dry, vacuum up what didn't stick. Then apply another coat of paint on top of the nonskid. You can get a much more uniform and better looking application that way.Sent via the Samsung Galaxy S®6 active, a 4G LTE Bartphone
