The Eco-Friendly Version of Epifanes Rubbed Effect Satin Varnish

Applied over several build coats of Epifanes Clear Gloss Varnish, Epifanes Wood Finish Gloss Varnish, or Epifanes Rapidclear, this unique, water-based formula provides the same lustrous, beautiful, durable satin finish as Epifanes Rubbed Effect Interior Satin Varnish, but with an extremely low VOC content and no harsh fumes, making it ideal for use on all interior woodwork, including meranti, mahogany, plywood, and Oregon pine).

When applied, its milky color looks different than conventional varnish, but the cured finish is a transparent amber color that retains the clarity of the gloss coats built up beneath it, without muddying the grain. It's also much more durable than conventional varnish.

Note: Epifanes Rubbed Effect Low VOC Interior Satin Varnish was previously known as Epifanes Aqua Marine Varnish.

Great Product - Be Sure Not to Use Thinner - Use Water. Read the instructions. If you use a thinner, will need to sand down and start over. USE WATER ONLY.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

I had high hopes -

I had to finish a pantry cabinet indoors. All my other cabinets are finished with multiple coats of epifanes clear, topped with the regular rubbed effects then steel wool and wax. Since I had to use a low VOC in this instance, I tried this product. It's OK as far as a water-based finish goes BUT is not amber like a trad finish (although the desc said it was) AND it is very difficult to get it to lay down smooth. Dry/sand/recoat time almost as long as trad. I will use it when I have no other option but am not about to replace m y traditional finishes
