Product Details

MAS Epoxy Low Viscosity Resin has a superior blend of low molecular weight epoxy resin and reactive dilutents, for an easy-flowing, non-blushing system.

Use for barrier coatings, laminating, and bonding. Low viscosity epoxy provides complete wet out of fiber-reinforced fabrics, reducing the potential for voids and other imperfections. Modify with fillers such as wood powder or colloidal silica for filling and fairing compound applications.

MAS epoxy is typically used at room temperatures using your choice of hardener (MAS recommends their Fast, Medium or Slow hardeners) in a 2 parts resin to 1 part hardener ratio. This versatile resin system can be used in a wide variety of applications, including boat hulls and structures, as well as laminating and bonding of nearly all materials.

Available in Quart, Half Gallon, Gallon, 4 Gallon, and larger sizes.

Info & Guides

Amine blush is a waxy layer that forms during the cure process of most epoxy resins. No blush is critical if you intend to apply additional epoxy or varnish over it. MAS epoxy won't blush as long as it is applied in anything under 98% humidity.

    Works as advertised

I used it to fill some small gaps in an endgrain cutting board I made. I was concerned that the overflow might penetrate the wood near where I applied it, but it didn't, The excess sanded away easily after hardening without leaving a stain or shadow. I will probably buy some higher viscosity resin to fill in larger gaps. I would like to learn a way to mix very small amounts to do small touchups.

This is the absolute best fiberglass resin and hardener.

No blush means that you do not have to do any prep between applications. Nothing could be easier. You can also mix the hardeners, fast, medium, or slow to manage any working time or setup you need. The low viscosity resin is perfect for penetrating any glass material and penetrating water damaged wood base. I will never use West products. MAS is far superior.

Even if you can't heat your workshop to plus 60 degree F, you will get good fiberglass penetration and easy use. If to cold use heat gun and you still have plenty of time before curing.
