Product Details

A method for identifying surface imperfections such as pinholes and deep scratches in primer. Requires no masking and there is no dry time involved. Can be used for both wet and dry sanding. Contains no solvents. Kit contains an applicator pad.

The 3M 05861 is often used in the 3M Dry Primer Sanding System. When sanding polyester filler, it ensures the filler is flat (no ripples) and that the body styling lines and contours are straight and correct. It also ensures the total primed area is sanded prior to top coating.

WAnt a perfect paint job?

Applied AwlGrip 545 primer over sanded Highbuild primer and then used Guidecoat to locate pin holes, orangepeel, small sags, and imperfections before topcoating. Irregularities jump out! Once Guidecoat is sanded off, you are ready to apply final coat(s). I would not do without this product if I wanted a perfect finish which which was assured using Guidecoat and topcoating with AwlCraft 2000.
