Question

after I use the Snappy Teak kit (parts 1 & 2) what else do I need to do the wood? Do I need to stain it, seal, or what? I am trying to semi restore my Dad's old Boston Whaler and want it to try and look new

Once the oil is on, that's it. It's tough stuff. Nothing else is needed over it. Follow the specific directions on the bottle for reapplication and you'll be good to go.

Thanks ... I will follow your suggestion ... after Teak Oil, do I need to seal that or put anything else on?

Answered on 02/01/2015 by Kevin Stav

Answer

First check for any splintered areas and lightly sand them. Then you will wan to do SOMETHING to seal it from the elements. You can use waterproof/water resistant stain but Teak oil is the easiest, least messy, and probably most historically 'accurate'.

You need to click on the drop down arrow next to the price to expand the choices, click on the Complete two part Kit.

Answer

I believe you can purchase a kit which includes parts 1 and 2, and the brushes; or you can purchase individual bottles of each in either a quart or a gallon. You will need more of the part 2 for removing the residue from part 1, so keep that in mind when making your purchase. For your project you will also want two small plastic pails and rubber gloves.
