The stop collars provided with the Kreg jig are probably alright but mine kept getting loose. Because the jig is dependent on the stop collar to make the depth just right I began looking for options. The reason I settled on this one was the two set screws and the strurdiness. When it arrived I immediately put on the Kreg drill bit and checked to see if it's length would a problem. It stays put on the bit and works just fine In the jig when I set the depth.

These drill bit stops just work perfect. They hold and do not damage the drill bit. They cost a little more than the cheap ones, but you get what you pay for and they are American made.

These Fuller Drill Stops are the best I've found. They are twice as long as the standard drill stops, so they are much more stable on the drill bit and don't go wobbly. They also have two set screws, so they tighten much better, too. I'm accumulating a bunch of these in different sizes for use in my machine shop.

Used to keep pilot holes for deck screws from going into the joists.

Purchased and used every stop I could buy commercially, finally resorted to googling stops and found yours. Just what I was looking for. Really works.

Simple to adjust and has very strong grip.

I use for their "stated" purpose, but I also use the 1/16 size for bits that are too small for my drill chuck (works much better than electrical tape) and the bigger ones on a "pop up" bathroom drain that keeps wanting to "pop out"

Grips tight when you need it most. Very reliable.

Used for drilling spindle holes in chair seat. Attaches tightly. Checked between drilling holes and had no slippage--maintained correct depth. I'll leave attached and use other bits for through holes.
