Formula 2 Mildew Odor Control Bags eliminate musty odors. Unlike common moisture absorbers, Starbrite mildew gas bags (MDG) actively emit inhibitors to mold and mildew growth.
The scientific formula is formaldehyde free and nontoxic. Each bag protects 400 cu. ft. A must for every boat.
This patented product prevents mildew odor as well as other foul smells, cigarette smells, etc. Excellent for home use in closets and cellars where moisture may be present. This slow-release formula extends protection for up to 3 months.
CAUTION: Do not use while people and pets are present. After treatment, be sure to air out the treated area.

Awesome product. I had strong mildew odor coming from the basement. My wife who has a very sensitive nose complained about the smell daily. After using this product the smell went completely away after one week.

I don't know how helpful this will be to mariners. I bought these after my car was mostly under water during a flash flood. After it was fairly dry, I put an odor control bag in the car. It definitely helped with the flood stink, even though it has a chlorine-ish smell of its own. I would recommend it for that use.

I have been using this product for many years while leaving my sail boat in the tropics. It effectively reduces mold and mildew. I use four bags in a 49 foot boat when I haul out for hurricane season. I have not had any adverse effect to any chrome fixtures or teak. The product used to be commonly available in the Caribbean chandleries but I can't seem to find it anymore there, so I order it from Jamestown now and bring it down.
