Answer

Thanks Frank, But I was looking for some way to clean the High Speed jets not to stabilize the sorry fuel we have to use now, I have spent $$$$$ on having the carbs cleaned and now I need to find a solution, without having the carbs cleaned again.

Answered on 04/15/2015 by ken Mcgary

Answer

Ken, The directions on the StarTron bottle suggest using 1oz. per 8 gallons initially and then 1oz. per 16 gallons for refills. If you use more than suggested, that is okay as it will cause no harm. I have used a bit more than suggested each time and that has worked just fine, so using the 4oz would be fine. Be sure to check the StarTron website because there is one for diesel engines, also one called Star Brite and maybe one preferred for marine use. Hope this helps.

I have a 42 ft boat with 454 Crusaders, I use a bottle about every month. I haven't had a problem at this time, I also have a dingy with a 25 hp Yamaha 2 cycle. I also use it in this boat. I was in savannah at the Thunderbolt Yacht Repair center,. I ask the same question. They told me that when a boat comes in with a fuel problem they use quite a bit of this product, the problem clears up. Thank You Steve Seymour

I use it in all my cars RV, and small engines. The gas we get today will not stay fresh for more then a month, with our motor home sitting a lot I never have problems starting the generator no varnish build up.

Answer

I use startron as a ethanol gas stabilizer not so much as a carb cleaner.I use sea form to help keep the carb cleaned and also add fuel injector to the gas.

Question

How long is a bottle of Startron stable & useable after opening?

Asked on 04/30/2015 by Undisclosed

Top Answer

I don't know what the shelf life is of Startron because I use so much of it. I buy 4 bottles of 32 oz. at a time for my family's 4 cars and 6 motorcycles. I swear by it to fight the ill effects of ethanol in small engines.

I do not believe there is any limited shelf life for an opened container of this product. I have had part bottles stored over the seasons and then used. I have seen no adverse reactions in my equipment- the product seems to do it's usual great job.

I've been using the same bottle that I bought in 2013 for my motorcycles and it still seems to be working.

Answer

I buy it by the gallon and it usually lasts more than 1 year, it really makes a difference in the performance especially in small engine (lawnmower tractor and blower), on vehicles it really makes a difference on road trips 1 oz per tankful (18 gallons). I highly recommend this product over sta-bil.

Question

What if I added too much to a lawn mower gas tank?

Asked on 04/14/2015 by Undisclosed

Top Answer

I would imagine how much "too much" is. If I remember the company's website says that an extra addition won't hurt; but I would imagine that depends on how much extra is added.

My experience with the product and knowing many boat owners, this is the best product on the market. To answer your question,to much will not effect your lawn mower engine.

Answered on 04/15/2015 by ROBERT CHOLICK

Answer

The short answer is that I don't know. It is a very easy thing to do so I am presuming that it isn't harmful, unless really overdone.

Answered on 04/15/2015 by RICHARD CORBEILLE

Answer

From my understanding there is no harm. I never measure so I am sure I add more than specified. I see no adverse effects.,

Answered on 04/14/2015 by WARREN FARNHAM

Answer

Accordng to information from manufacturer, no harm will result from over-treating the gas in your power equipment or automobile. I have consistently treated the gas for my lawn mowers, string trimmers and chain saw at two or three times the recommended concentration and have had no fuel related problems.

Answer Question

Question

can you use star tron gas treatment in a brand new truck ford 5.4 v8 ?

Asked on 01/13/2013 by Undisclosed

Top Answer

Yes, it can be used in all engines, however it only works in the gas that it is in. By that I mean it is not a one time treatment it should be added every time gas is added to the truck. I use it in by Yamaha F250 outboard to prevent water in my fuel and to keep the engine internals clean. Marine engines are run hard and prone to carbon build up, to compare it would be like towing a boat every time you use the truck.

I daily drive a 1974 Vette which was originally designed for leaded gas. The mechanic that I have used for the past 15 years and knows my car well recommended I start using and adding StarTron Gasoline Engine Fuel Treatment due to all the changes and additives to today's gas. I have been adding 1/4 cup to each full tank for over a year now. The car starts easier and when turning the ignition off the car shuts down immediately. No more the car trying to continue to run and petering out! I know my still driving a '74 is out of sync with most cars today. Unfortunately I cannot speak to those who are driving today's newer cars. Hope this helps you

Answer

Startron is the only additive that I have used to cure ethanal related products. My results have been excellent! I use it in every gas powered piece of equipment that I own. The most noticable results have been in my 4 stroke Yamaha outboard motor which seems to be very sensitive to gasoline with ethanol added. I strongly recommend using Startron.

Answered on 08/21/2012 by JOSEPH HARRINGTON

Answer

This one will solve your issues with ethanol. I do not have hesitation issue with my boat anymore and don't have the starting issue when I have docked for more than 20 or 30 minutes.

Answer

About 1/2 oz. per gallon .

Answered on 12/04/2016 by Donald Housholde

Answer

Doubt if this will help you much, but on the recommendation from my mechanic he advised adding just 1/4 cup to a full tank of gas. At the time I was driving my '74 Vette as my full time car. The car was originally designed to run on leaded fuel and with all the changes to gasoline over the years the 1/4 cup to a full gas tank (a 16 gallon tank) the StarTron Fuel Treatment worked to help with easier start-ups and smoother engine operation. Sadly I had to sell my beloved Vette last year after 41 years of driving the American Dream. However, I was pleased with the performance provided by StarTron's fuel treatment by just using 1/4 cup.

I am a landscape contractor. I put one ounce in five gallons of gas for all my equipment. I use twice the amount for off season storage. Star Tron states you can not put too much in.
